Bill Jessome
Bill Jessome was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia.  After he served in Italy
during World War II, Bill moved to the United States where he worked
for twenty years as a television and radio journalist and a stage actor.
He returned to Nova Scotia in 1965.  He later began the popular
television series,
Maritime Mysteries, which he hosted for nine years,
bringing local stories of the unexplained to viewers all around the region.

Bill worked at CJCB Television/ATV Sydney until 1983, when he moved
to ATV Halifax.  He now does freelance work for CBC radio.

The Maritime provinces have a history of passed down supernatural stories from generation to
generation and of enjoying the art of storytelling.   For many years, TV journalist Bill Jessome has
spent hours at kitchen tables and campfires collecting ghost stories from the region.  He shares
these stories in his three books:
Maritime Mysteries and the Ghosts That Surround Us (1999),  More
Maritime Mysteries: Everyone Has a Story (2001), and The Stories That Haunt Us (2004).
