Boyde Beck
Boyde Beck was born in Montague, Prince Edward Island. After deciding
that the 1980s were a good time to stay in school, he eventually completed
Grade XX at the University of Prince Edward Island, Queens University,
and the University of Toronto.  He works as curator of the Prince Edward
Island Museum and Heritage Foundation, and lives in Mount Stewart,
Prince Edward Island, with his wife, Anna, and their three cats.

Boyde is co-author of
Everyday and Extraordinary: An Island History
Almanac (1999) and author of Prince Edward Island: An (Un)Authorized
History
.  He is editor of The Island Magazine.  Boyde Beck continues to
broadcast a regular feature on Prince Edward Island history for CBC
Charlottetown's MainStreet.  In 2001, he received first prize in the Prince
Edward Island Literary Awards in the Feature Article category.
