as Poppy", Felix (LeRoy) Perry recorded his father's tales in Red
Soil! A PEI Soldier's Life at the Front. Felix reconstructed his
father's wartime experiences using interviews with his siblings
and photos, war records, letters and other memorabilia. He
recalls these stories in great detail and tells them, faithfully, in his
father's voice. Red Soil! was published in 2000.
