Dr. Ian MacQuarrie
Born in Hampton, Prince Edward Island, on the family farm, Dr. Ian
MacQuarrie was educated at Dalhousie University and King's College,
London.  He is a former professor of biology at St. Dunstan's University
and University of Prince Edward Island.

Among his other contributions, he was the founding president of the Island
Nature Trust and is a past chair of the Prince Edward Island  Museum
and Heritage Foundation.  He is author of many articles on the natural
history of Prince Edward Island published in
The Island Magazine, and
The Bonshaw Hills, published in 1989.

He currently serves as chair of the Public Forest Council which is seeking
public input regarding non-timber uses of forested land owned by the
Province.
