Martin Hollenberg has had a rewarding career as a scientist, educator and Dean of Medicine at both
the University of Western Ontario and the University of British Columbia. Upon retirement in 2001, Dr.
Hollenberg turned to researching tall sailing ships of the 18th and 19th centuries and became intrigued
by the Marco Polo. He lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
