Nancy L. M. Russell
Nancy L. M. Russell is an award-winning writer,
broadcaster and educator on Prince Edward Island.   

Originally from Winnipeg, Nancy attended Carleton
University in Ottawa where she obtained a Bachelor
of Journalism degree and an M.A. in Canadian
Studies.
Nancy traveled across Canada with the CBC, working in Whitehorse, Winnipeg, Toronto and finally,
Charlottetown.   During her career with CBC Radio, she covered the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics and
produced a series of reports on sports in Russia and Ukraine.   In 2000, Nancy graduated from the
Bachelor of Education program at the University of Prince Edward Island.

Her first children's book,
Farewell to the Ferryboats, was published in the spring of 1998 and became
part of the Grade Five curriculum on Prince Edward Island.   The same year,
One Magical Summer  
was published.   Both books were honoured with the L. M. Montgomery Children's Literature Award.  
Nancy's third children's book,
Light the Way Home, was published in 2001 and her fifth, Rink of
Dreams
in 2005.   Her latest book, So Long, Jackie Robinson, was published in 2007.

Nancy and her husband Rob have two sons and live in Charlottetown.
