Stompin' Tom Connors
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Tom Connors early years were spent living hand-to-mouth with his
mother.  He was taken from her and placed in the care of Children's Aid.  From there he was adopted by
the Aylward family of Skinner's Pond, Prince Edward Island, where he lived until the age of 15.  Tom
traveled to almost every corner of Canada during his late teens and twenties - he was rarely found
without his guitar.  He wrote and sang songs about the people he met and the places he visited.  He
began recording in the late 1960's and has put out twenty albums of original material, an autobiography,
a movie, and a television series.  He received the Order of Canada, an Honourary Doctorate of Laws
from St. Thomas University, the key to the city of Peterborough, Ontario, and countless other honours.
His publications include two children's books:
Bud the Spud (1994, 2002) and Hockey Night Tonight
(1995, 2002).
