Warren Perrin
Warren A. Perrin was born 1947, in the hamlet
of Henry, located in Vermilion Parish,
Louisiana.  He graduated from Henry High
School in 1965, the University of Louisiana at
Lafayette in 1969, and Louisiana State
University Law School in 1972.   After Law
Clerking for Judge J. Cleveland Fruge at the
Third Circuit Court of Appeal, Perrin founded
the law firm of Perrin, Landry, deLaunay,
Dartez and Ouellet with offices in Lafayette,
Erath, Broussard and Maurice.

In 1990, Perrin and his good friend, J. Weldon
Granger, established the non-profit Acadian
Heritage and Culture Foundation, Inc., which
operated the Acadian Museum of Erath.  For fifteen years, Perrin spearheaded a campaign to compel
Queen Elizabeth II of England to acknowledge and apologize for the Acadians expulsion from Nova
Scotia in 1755.  

Perrin has been honoured with many awards for his activities in preserving and promoting Cajun culture
including.  His work has elevated him to the forefront of leading cultural activists and has helped to
reinvigorate the Cajun pride movement through his Petition for an apology, the establishment of the
Acadian Museum and his many ongoing contributions to the Council for the Development of French in
Louisiana.
