"As a young teacher, wife and mother of eight, grandmother of twenty-three, a successful politician, P.E.I.'s first
Lady Lieutenant Governor, and a distinguished Islanders, Marion Reid is a writer who knows her family history
intimately and relates it with grace and intelligence.
" - Reverend Francis W.P. Bolger, C.M., O.P.E.I.

"Marion Reid was raised on the conviction that experience provides lessons to live by, and she shares them in
this welcome memoir.  She believes that life is what you make of it, and this brisk and lively reminiscence
provides a positive charge for the faint of heart.  Read it.  You will feel her spirit.
"   - Dr. Edward MacDonald

"Marion Reid sets a high standard for any Islander who dreams of using all their talents and enthusiasm to make
this world a better place.  My husband, Angus, would have loved to read her life story - in so many ways it reflects
his own upbringing and his love of this beloved Island.  Her career makes us all proud.
"            - Mrs. Gwen MacLean
