Bigfoot Sabotage
Deirdre Kessler
Bigfoot.  Yeti.  Sasquatch. . . They're not even in
the dictionary.  But listen to this Maya:
sab-o-tage [F sabot wooden shoe; practice of
throwing wooden shoes into factory machinery to
cause breakdowns]
n 1. deliberate destruction of
machinery or public facilities, as by workers
during labour disputes or enemy agents in time of
war.

Maya and Jake live on a farm at the edge of a
vast forest.  The sister and brother have been
experimenting with dream flight.  One night as she
practices flying, Maya sees a family of sasquatch
in a mountain cave.  Then, on a hike into the
mountains, Maya and Jake find the cave and
evidence of a peaceful bigfoot family.

When a logging operation threatens to destroy the
forest and expose the cave, the two brave
youngsters must make tough decisions about
taking the law into their own hands.

This is a gripping adventure story combining
fantasy and reality.

"A thoroughly enjoyable book, with fantasy, adventure, suspense and issues of real, immediate
concern combined . . . a good read.

"Deirdre Kessler has woven an exciting tale combining the actualities of clearcut logging, the pros
and cons of which are stated simply and fairly, with a more mythic story of the sasquatch.  Kessler's
descriptions of western mountain meadowland and forest are superb, and her characters are a
spunky pair.
