From Scotland to
Prince Edward Island
Names of some immigrants to
Prince Edward Island from Scotland
Compiled by Peter Gallant
and Nelda Murray
A great finding aid to those immigrants who were identified
in obituaries or on gravestones as having originated from
Scotland.   This book contains names and genealogical
information for over 1,200 persons.

The book is divided into two sections: An index of Scottish
Immigrants based on obituaries and death notices in Prince
Edward Island newspapers from 1835 to 1910 and an index
of Scottish Immigrants based on cemetery transcripts.

In the first section, the names are listed alphabetically and
include an abstract from the newspaper and a reference as
to the source (newspaper name and date of publication).

In the second section, names are recorded by lot or
township number, rather than alphabetically.  Each entry
includes an abstract of information found on the cemetery
stone, and the name (and location) of the cemetery.  The
alphabetical index at the back of the book lists all names in
both sections.
