Patriotic Fund
1855
Compiled by
William M. Glen CG(C)
Elizabeth A. Glen CG (C)
The 1848 census for Prince Edward Island has only
survived for Charlottetown and Lot 31 and the 1855
census has not survived except for summary information.
These missing documents leave a "gap" for many
researchers of Island history and genealogy.

Patriotic Fund 1855 seeks to assist in filling this gap.
This 1855 list of individuals who contributed to support the
widows and orphans of the War in the Crimea provides the
names of just over 3,000 persons across the Province.
The list was compiled from Prince Edward Island
newspapers published in the spring and summer of 1855.
