Prince Edward Island
Memories
Written and Edited by Laurie Brinklow

Prince Edward Island is perhaps best-known for its red soil,
its potatoes, its lobster, and Anne of Green Gables.  But, the
Island works some sort of magic, making one want to set
down roots in its fertile soil and raise one's children in safety
with a quality of life that is hard to find elsewhere.  Often
called Spud Island or the Garden of the Gulf, it is likened to a
well-tended garden, with its patchwork fields of bright reds
and greens against a backdrop of various shades of blue.  Its
sandy shores and sandstone cliffs define it, giving it a
beginning and an end.

Island poet Milton Acorn said simply, Prince Edward Island is
"the wave lined edge of home."

Prince Edward Island Memories is the perfect book for
anyone interested in PEI food and PEI culture.
