Seashores of the Maritimes
Merritt Gibson
Illustrated by Twila Robar-DeCoste
An astounding 11,000 kilometres of seashores hug the
perimeters of Canada's Maritime Provinces. Ranging from tidal
pools to high cliffs, these shores are rich habitats for many
birds, plants, and animals.

Seashores of the Maritimes is designed to help the reader
identify the many common plants and animals of the Atlantic
coastline.  About four hundred species are included for easy
identification.  Each entry includes easy-to-read descriptions
and habitat information, as well as accurate illustrations.  This
book will allow the reader to recognize plants and animals that
are associated with particular habitats and know where to go to
find them.

The comprehensive index allows the reader to have this
essential information at their fingertips.  As an improved and
expanded version of Gibson's earlier classic,
Nature Notes for
Nova Scotians: Seashores
, this book is a fundamental tool for
anyone who has wandered and wondered along the seashore.

From the Windowpane Flounder to Mermaid's Hair Seaweed,
Seashores of the Maritimes provides helpful and detailed
descriptions of our region's most common and fascinating
creatures.
