Originally intended to be a documentation of the
Marshfield Pioneer Cemetery, the interest in this
history grew quickly and, Chairman Velma
Carmody-MacDonald writes, "so did the book,
which eventually included not only those who are
buried in the old cemetery but a few other pioneer
settlers and many more articles of interest".  

The book includes a history of local institutions and
organizations, churches, properties and people, and
over 130 pages with genealogies of local families.
