| Cover: Beaconsfield, located at the gateway to Victoria Park, has many stories to tell. Built in 1877 by shipbuilder James Peake, Jr., Beaconsfield was recognized as one of the finest residences in the town - another proud achievement of architect W. C. Harris, who was a mere twenty-five years old at the time it was built. Peake lived in the house for only six years. |
| Included is an introduction by well-known historian Catherine Hennessey, which highlights the important history of Charlottetown, while acknowledging its steps toward the future. Together the photographs and text pay a glorious tribute to the beauty and history of this delightful Maritime capital city, at this defining moment in its existence. |
