The history of the Liberal Party as told in The Life of the Party
begins in 1767, with the acquisition of the Prince Edward Island
(then called the Island of St. John) as a British possession. The
book follows the Liberal Party through to 1973, with
discussions about party principals, politicians, and elections.
And the issues - the land question, confederation, the railway,
roads, schools, the economy and progress.
Over thirty years ago MacKinnon wrote, "As Prince Edward
Island moves into its second century as a Canadian Province,
there is a developing awareness of the importance of the style
and quality of Island life." These words and the history
written in The Life of the Party are still true.

| The Life of the Party is now out-of print. The books are "new" (i.e. not used) however, there is some discolouration from being stored for over thirty years. This is a collectors item. |
