Brad Richards
A Hockey Story
Paul Hollingsworth
Brad Richards: A Hockey Story tells the story of PEI’s most
famous NHLer, Brad Richards.  Author Paul Hollingsworth has
collected an assortment of prominent hockey commentators to help
assess Richards’s rise from junior hockey star to Stanley Cup
champion, including Gord Miller and Bob McKenzie of TSN.
Fighting a constant battle against the perception that he wasn’t fast
enough, big enough, or talented enough to be a dominant hockey
player, Brad Richards overcame long odds to become a second-
round draft pick and NHL star, and eventually, achieve the
ultimate goal of every young Canadian hockey player - win the
Stanley Cup.

Colourful photographs along with commentary and insights from
Brad’s coaches, teammates, and family chronicle his growth both
as a hockey player and a person.  Paul Hollingsworth describes the
difficulty Brad had in leaving home for the first time at age
fourteen; his fast friendship with another young teenager, Vincent
Lecavalier, who would become his junior and NHL teammate; his
rise to junior hockey stardom; his entry and development into an
NHL superstar; his Stanley Cup triumph in 2004; and the
importance of his significant charitable foundation, Richy’s
Rascals.
Brad Richards: A Hockey Story will give readers an
inside look at one of the region’s hockey idols.
