Extreme Sports of the Maritimes
Lobster Suppers, Fire Hall Bingo, Flea Markets,
Church Chowder, and All the Rest
Pat Wilson and Kris Wood
When people ask, "So, what do you do for excitement in
the Maritimes?"  Pat Wilson and Kris Wood are never lost
for an answer.   Their extreme sports give them just as
much heart-pounding, pulse-throbbing, adrenaline-rushing,
endorphin-releasing excitement as any maniac will ever
experience going over the Niagara Falls in a barrel.

From the excitement of yelling "Bingo!" in the Jackpot
Game, to the discovery of untold treasures at the flea
market, to the mountain-top elation of finding actual pieces
of real lobster in the festival chowder, to the boldness of
penetrating the terra incognito of a fabulous casino, they've
uncovered the thrill-a-minute extreme sports of the
Maritimes.

In a rollicking, tongue-in-cheek look at what it takes to be a
player of these extreme sports, Pat and Kris share their
how-to secrets.

                                           Bingo, anyone?

You'll be able to find out if you're right for the sport.  Ask yourself the following:

1. You finally get an appointment for "the works" at the Golden Dawn Spa.  They're running late, and
you're midway through major waxing.  Bingo starts in half an hour.
Would you go to Bingo?

2. Your partner has farmed the kids out to Grandma's, opened a bottle of wine and has that look in his
eyes.
Would you go to Bingo?

3. You know that if you leave the Funeral Home by 7:30, you can make it to Bingo after Great Uncle
George's wake.
Would you go to Bingo?
Pat Wilson and Kris Wood have been friends for over 30 years, although they've seldom lived near each other.
Instead, they've run businesses, written stories, and collaborated on a multitude of projects all through mail,
email, fax, telephone, and the occasional brief visit.

Pat Wilson is an international speaker.  Kris Wood is a certified gerontologist.   Both are published authors, as
well as bin-shopping afficionados and masters of lobster suppers, fire hall bingo and flea markets.  They now live
next door to each other on Sober Island, Nova Scotia.
